Terms of service

1. Preamble

These general terms and conditions of sale (hereinafter the “Terms”) govern all contractual relations between Interstella SRL, whose registered office is at Vallon du Pâchis 2, 1325 Chaumont-Gistoux (Belgium), registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number 0789.769.941 (VAT: BE0789.769.941), operating the DecoNova brand on the website www.deconova.lu (hereinafter the “Seller”), and any natural or legal person making a purchase (hereinafter the “Customer”).

Any order placed on the website implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms.

2. Products

DecoNova designs and makes, in its workshop in Belgium, useful objects for the home, families and the garden. The products are described with their essential characteristics on their product pages: material, dimensions, compatibility, contents of the order.

Photographs and graphic representations are provided for illustrative purposes: slight variations in colour, finish or manufacturing tolerance may exist between the photo and the delivered object without calling the conformity of the product into question.

The Customer is invited to check the stated compatibility with their own equipment (in particular IKEA, Stokke or standard jars) before ordering. DecoNova is neither affiliated with nor a partner of the brands cited as compatibility references.

3. Order

Orders are placed exclusively online at www.deconova.lu. The process comprises: adding to cart, identification, choice of delivery address, choice of payment method, final confirmation and confirmation by email.

Any order is firm and final once payment has been confirmed. A summary email is sent to the Customer at the address provided. The Seller reserves the right to refuse an order in the event of suspected fraud, a previous unpaid amount or an obvious pricing error.

4. Prices

Prices are stated in euros, all taxes included, Belgian VAT applicable. Delivery charges are shown separately before final confirmation. Prices may be changed at any time: orders are invoiced on the basis of the prices in force at the time they are confirmed.

5. Payment

The accepted payment methods are indicated at the cart stage (Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, Bancontact, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, subject to activation). Payment is made at the time of the order. Transactions are secured via Shopify Payments and comply with PCI-DSS standards. No banking data is retained by DecoNova.

6. Delivery

The precise terms (zones, carriers, lead times and charges) are detailed in the Shipping Policy.

Lead times are given for information purposes only. As most products are made to order, a production time of 1 to 5 business days may apply before dispatch. The Customer is informed of this in the order confirmation.

In the event of a delivery delay of more than 30 days after the initially scheduled date, the Customer may request the termination of the order in accordance with Article VI.43 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law.

7. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

In accordance with Articles VI.47 et seq. of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, the consumer Customer has a period of 14 calendar days from receipt of their order to withdraw, without having to give reasons for their decision.

The return procedure, any applicable costs and the exceptions to the right of withdrawal are detailed in the Return Policy. A model form is available on request at shop@deconova.lu.

In accordance with Article VI.53, 3° of the Code of Economic Law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the Customer’s specifications or clearly personalised (in particular products created with the DecoNova configurator or in colours outside the standard stock range).

8. Legal guarantee of conformity

All products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity of 2 years from delivery (Articles 1649bis et seq. of the Belgian Civil Code), as well as the guarantee against hidden defects. In the event of a lack of conformity, the Customer may request the repair, the replacement or, failing that, the refund of the product. To claim under the guarantee, contact us at shop@deconova.lu with photos and your order number.

9. Liability

DecoNova products are decorative and functional objects designed for normal indoor or outdoor use according to their specifications. The Seller cannot be held liable for damage resulting from: improper use, modification of the product, incorrect assembly despite the instructions, or unsupervised use by children of products not intended for them.

10. Personal data

Data collected in connection with orders is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679).

11. Mediation of consumer disputes

Before taking any legal action, the Customer is invited to contact the Seller at shop@deconova.lu in order to seek an amicable solution. Failing agreement, the Customer may refer the matter to the Consumer Mediation Service (mediationconsommateur.be), or to the European online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Failing an amicable resolution, and subject to mandatory consumer protection rules, any dispute shall fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Walloon Brabant.
